Hi, if you are looking for all the details about the upcoming open beta of Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker, you’re in the right place! My name is Tony-San. I’m community manager for Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe and I will be your battle instructor from now on.
The open beta start time and how to join
The open beta test is available to all players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. You won’t need to have access to PS Plus but you will need to have a working PSN account to download the open beta client and an internet connection to play online. The client is available to download from PlayStation Store now.
The Open Beta Test will start on 23rd February at 09:00 GMT / 10:00 CET and will end on 25th February at 09:00 GMT / 10:00 CET.
Two server maintenance are scheduled on:
- 24th February from 23:00 GMT / 00:00 CET to 25th February 01:00 GMT / 02:00 CET
- 25th February from 23:00 GMT / 00:00 CET to 25th February 01:00 GMT / 02:00 CET
What is Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker?
Now let’s feed you with basic intel: Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker is a 4 vs. 4 action online fighting game based on Naruto and Boruto anime series’ universes.
While the game will feature various game modes, the open beta test will give you access to the Flag Battle mode. In this mode, your team will have to seize a flag in the other team’s zone and to bring it back on their own, while preventing their own flag to be conquered. If you think it’s going to be easy, you probably forgot that you’ll have to face ninjas…
Create your avatar, get an exclusive beta in-game t-shirt
Before you jump in the ninja battle, you will need to create your ninja avatar. The avatar creation of Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker gives you access to multiple options including body, face, hair and costume to create the ninja of your dream.
To thank you for your participation to the open beta test, you will get an exclusive branded t-shirt for your avatar. This t-shirt will remain available for you when the game will release to show your friends and opponents that you supported the game from the beginning…And that you are possibly a player to keep an eye on.
Introducing the Hidden Sands battleground
The open beta will introduce the Hidden Sand stage as a new battleground. This map will require you to get the best use of verticality to elude your enemies and disappear between the Sand’s buildings.
Keep in mind that this map also features many spots for ranged type fighters to hide and organize a solid line of defense. At first sight, the Blue Zone nested inside a building might seems easier to defend than the open Red Zone but I suggest you to stay sharp as a skilled ninja will make a good use of the natural protection of high walls around the Blue Zone to harass and destroy the defenders.
The Hidden Leaf Forest stage that has been presented during the closed beta test is also going to be available in the open beta test. This map is much more open than the Hidden Sands’ and will favour quick moves and powerful close range attacks.
An overview of the new ninjustu and secret techniques
6 new ninjustu, 2 substitution techniques and 2 secret Techniques have been added to the open beta test, to raise the combinations and give you more strategic options to control the battle.
Each ninja has four specializations to choose from and each can receive a different set of jutsu and techniques.
The specialisations are the Attack type, the Ranged type, the Defense type or the Heal type and you’ll soon learn that switch from one to the other is a great way to contribute to your team’s advantage and to vary the techniques you can use.
(Just don’t forget that you can only change types when you respawn.)
The new Justu and techniques added:
Attack Type
- Sage Art: Wind Style Rasen Shuriken
- Lightning Blade, Sharingan
- Massive Rasengan, Kamui
- Shadow Clone Jutsu
- Lightning Style: Shadow Clone Jutsu
Ranged Type

I will monitor the battle together with the Bandai Namco team all throughout the Beta to receive your comments and feedback on the official twitter or the official Facebook page and through the hashtag #shinobistrikerBETA so do not hesitate drop us a word about your experience.
