PlayStation Plus in December: Invisible Inc., Stories: The Path of Destinies, more

Greetings, gamers. A bit of winter chill might be creeping in now December is upon us, but the PlayStation Plus monthly games are here to help heat things up. We’ve got some exciting titles to keep you entertained throughout your holiday hibernation.

Here’s what you can play from 6th December:

Stories: The Path of Destinies

Humour, heroics, action-packed adventure, this game has all the makings of the perfect holiday entertainment. Play as the rogue Reynardo, a pirate fox in a fateful battle against an oppressive emperor. There will be many choices to make along the perilous journey and they are not to be taken for granted, sometimes a simple task such as retrieving a weapon lost at the beginning of time can mean sacrificing the life of an old friend.

Invisible, Inc.

Take control of up to 10 invisible agents as you infiltrate the world’s most dangerous corporations in Klei Entertainment’s acclaimed adventure. A stealth game like no other, you’ll have to use your wits to build winning strategies as you adapt and explore a number of randomly-generated locations around the world.

Why settle for fun on just one platform when there’s more to games to get stuck into on PS3 and PS Vita. It’s games galore this winter with space battles in cross-dimensional wormholes in Hyper Void (PS3), bite-sized arcade shooter Tiny Troopers Join Ops (PS4, PS3 & PS Vita), vibrant worlds with tricky obstacles in Color Guardians (PS4 & PS Vita), and notorious platformer VVVVV (PS Vita).

Last chance!

The following titles are leaving PlayStation Plus on 5th November; don’t miss out – download them now!

PlayStation Communities app launches on iOS and Android tomorrow

A little over a year ago we launched ‘Communities’ on PS4 – a brand-new, on-console feature designed to help bring like-minded players together.

Since its launch as part of System Software 3.0, Communities has spawned thousands of groups populated by millions of players sharing their experiences, joining forces in online play or reposting their best moments as videos or pictures.

We’re excited to announce that as of tomorrow all these features will now be available on the go, via a brand-new smartphone app for iOS and Android. The new Communities App will function exactly as it currently does on your PlayStation 4, allowing you to create, join and interact with groups from wherever you are.

Find new groups based on games you’ve been playing, or check out groups your friends are currently members of. Whenever you join a group you’ll be able to post questions and comments or join ongoing conversations with others.

Communities app

The app will also notify you when others respond to your comments or posts or if you’re tagged in somebody else’s message, and notifications can also be tailored for each community. It also interacts seamlessly with the existing PlayStation and PlayStation Messages apps to keep you fully connected with your gaming world, wherever you are.

The PlayStation Communities app also functions as a handy companion even at home, allowing you to continue group conversations, or hunt down additional party members while you’re still gaming.

Download the PlayStation Communities app tomorrow, along with the latest updates for the PlayStation and PlayStation Messages apps to get the very most from your gaming experience.

Build solo or with friends in Lego Worlds, crash landing on PS4 in February 2017

Alright everyone? Fancy meeting you here! As you have probably guessed by the rather stylish (and well thought up if I say so myself) headings, Lego Worlds is leaving Early Access and is also coming to PlayStation 4 in February! You’ll be able to explore vast worlds made entirely from your favourite building bricks!

LEGO Worlds

Alter the landscape with the Creative Tools and sculpt your worlds just how you like them. Discover a gaggle of characters, creatures and vehicles, from farmers to yetis, broomsticks to giant drillers, squirrels to dragons! Or build with individual bricks to create a masterpiece, as you embark on your creative adventure to become a Master Builder!

More than that, invite friends into your worlds and play together, either through Couch Co-Op or Online Multiplayer, offering you a chance to expand your creations, or build your own games to play together!

We look forward to seeing what you create! Be sure to keep an eye out for our Developer Diaries on our YouTube page and check out this cool trailer to see it all in action while you’re at it!

A separate LEGO Agents DLC pack, which features new characters, vehicles, weapons and more from the Agents range of play materials, will be available as an exclusive bonus on PlayStation 4 for a limited time.

How We Soar takes flight today, exclusively on PlayStation VR

Hi everyone, Tom Turner from Penny Black Studios here! Today is very exciting day for us because we are releasing our debut game – How We Soar – exclusively for PlayStation VR.

After nearly 18 months in development, countless bird flight model iterations and all the excitement that goes with getting to grips with brand new hardware, we’re finally ready to release our game on this amazing new platform!

How We Soar

How We Soar is a VR flight experience that lets you take up the reins of a beautiful, giant Phoenix and explore an enchanting papercraft world. Seated on the back of this mythical creature, you fly throughout the diaries and works of the ‘Author’, bringing life to the pages of his creations and uncovering his personal story as you soar.

The game focuses on the tale of The Author and a woman he meets named Lily. I’m really proud and excited to announce to you today that the game will be voiced by the amazingly talented duo of Katherine Carlton and Grahame Fox!!

How We Soar

To give you a measure of Katherine Carlton’s talent, straight after graduating she found herself in a Shakespeare production opposite Vanessa Redgrave and James Earl Jones! As well as numerous film and theatre roles, she has also featured in Downton Abbey.

She brings a beautifully quirky interpretation of our character Lily. In fact we didn’t even know Lily was going to be quirky, but we simply had to go with Katherine’s fantastic reading!

How We Soar

Grahame Fox brings a real warmth and grounded feel to The Author. What was important to us was that his character takes us on an emotional journey, as he struggles to balance with his need for creative freedom with the demands of daily life. You might have recently heard Grahame as Eygon of Cairm in Dark Souls III and even seen him in a little known TV show called Game of Thrones!

We were exceedingly lucky to be able to work with actors of their calibre and we really feel that their performances have really lifted the whole experience (pun intended!).

How We Soar

Each level in our papercraft world is broken down into individual story scenes that initially appear as fragments floating in the world. It’s up to you to explore each level, rebuild the world through flight and create the story scenes. You’ll then be rewarded with some character dialogue to further the story. These scenes can be completed in any order, without any time pressure. So just take it easy and enjoy the ride!
