Kung Fury: Street Rage has come to PS4! And with it, our indie game studio Hello There finally makes its PlayStation debut!
When Kickstarter-funded movie Kung Fury by Laser Unicorns premiered last spring, the global success was immediate. No one could resist its retro ’80s bonanza, explosions, Nazi fights and Viking chicks with machine guns. Neither could we.
Hello There had just released a series of games: Khaba, Avicii | Gravity and Taekwondo Game Global Tournament, which were successful in Sweden and globally. All of them offer great pay-off to invested players, through challenging puzzles, a performance-responsive soundtrack or advanced fighting-mechanics.
With Kung Fury, we saw an opportunity to create a more straightforward experience: start the game and beat Nazis until your fingers bleed. No fuzz, just endless fighting, awesome retro graphics and a killer synth soundtrack. Inspiration came from the directness of the One Finger Death Punch game and the overall retro love presented in the movie.
The result is Kung Fury: Street Rage.
On its initial release, we were extremely happy to see that our priorities paid off. Praise was levelled at the game’s precise execution of arcade style gameplay, as well as the old school graphics. Players and reviewers all over the world immediately took it to heart, spending hours and hours on beating an endless line of Nazis.
Thanks to this, we’re taking a confident next step into the world of console games! The PlayStation 4 version of Kung Fury: Street Rage comes with a couple of new features: graphic enhancements to boost that retro arcade look on bigger screens and brand new achievements to accompany the highscore hunt.
Play the game. Become the action. Be Kung Fury and uphold the law!
DISCLAIMER: Not enough Nazis were harmed in the making of this game.
