8 PlayStation stories you might have missed this week

1. Need For Speed roars back into action this autumn

After spending 2014 in the pit lane pimping its rims, EA’s long-running racing series gets back on the road later this year. Check out the trailer above for a quick glimpse at what’s in store.

2. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt lays down an early GOTY marker

Hands up if you’re devoting the weekend to CD Projekt’s enormous action RPG sequel? If not, get yourself down the shops – it’s the perfect pick-me-up for anyone suffering from the post-Bloodborne blues.

3. Grab a discount on The Order: 1886

On the fence about The Order: 1886? Now’s the time to jump in. Ready At Dawn’s impossibly handsome Gothic horror adventure is on sale now on PlayStation Store for £34.99/€39.99, with an additional 20% off for PlayStation Plus members.

4. M Bison confirmed for Street Fighter V

Capcom offered up a new trailer for its forthcoming scrapper sequel this week, heralding the return of one of the great videogame villains of all time: M Bison. Check it out.

5. Guilty Gear Xrd ~Sign~ secures a PAL release

With that Street Fighter V trailer, a release date for Ultra Street Fighter IV and news that fan-favourite Japanese export Guilty Gear Xrd ~Sign~ has finally locked down a belated PAL release, it was a good week to be a fight fan.

6. Batman: Arkham Knight gets a stylish live action trailer

Folks, it’s less than a month now until the latest entry in Rocksteady’s phenomenal Batman saga glides silently into your PS4s. Excited much? To mark the occasion, Warner Bros dropped a slick live action trailer to keep us keen. Job done.

7. Check out God of War III Remastered in all its 1080p/60fps glory

There are very few games that come close to matching God of War III’s glorious visuals on PS3 – it was a colossal achievement by the team at Sony Santa Monica. So, it should come as no surprise that revisiting it in full 1080p/60fps on PS4 is a treat for the eyes.

8. Life is Strange continues to delight on PS4

The third episode in Square Enix‘s lovely interactive adventure landed this week, picking up the thread with Max and Chloe as they continue to unravel the mysteries of Arcadia Bay. For my money, this is one of 2015’s most unexpected highlights, and well worth your attention.
