5. Castlevania legend Koji Igarashi returns with a brand new game
Iga, the man many deem to be the founder of much-loved ‘Metroidvania’ subgenre, made a welcome return to the spotlight this week, launching a Kickstarter for a new side-scroller, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Pleasingly, it absolutely obliterated its target in a matter of hours.

6. Helldivers gets a chunky expansion, free of charge
One of the most purely enjoyable multiplayer experiences of the year so far got a hefty slab of new content this week. The Turn Up The Heat update added a new level environment, new enemies, new trophies and new perks, among other bits and bobs. And the best part? It’s totally free.
