This week’s PlayStation Store releases range from a fully Rick-licious experience in the name of science and hilarity with Rick & Morty: Virtual Rick-Ality for PS VR, to arcade thrills on the battlefield with Call of Duty: WWII DLC (plus an old-school take on the genre with Operation Warcade).
Elsewhere, soar through the skies in retro fantasy adventure Owl Boy. And if none of the above satisfy your gameplay needs, how about some superheroic parkour as you battle giants in Extinction?
1. Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-Ality
Explore the world and interact with some iconic gadgets of Rick and Morty, the critically-acclaimed, darkly humorous TV series with this PS VR tie-in.
- Why you should play it: We don’t want to spoil the circumstances behind it, but two words: Mr. Meeseeks.
- Find out more: Find out some of the things you’ll be able to try in Rick and Morty: Rick-Ality
- Available: Tuesday 10th April
2. Extinction
Play a superheroic adventurer with time management issues! As a city’s last line of defense against hordes of rampaging giants, you’ve got flashy parkour moves and a wealth of abilities to protect population centres. But you can’t be in all places at once…
- Why you should play it: Despite its colourful outer hue, Extinction ramps up the tension as every missed jump and failed attack can mean the deaths of innocents.
- Find out more: Why your inability to save everyone from invasion makes Extinction so compelling.
- Available: Tuesday 10th April
3. Owl Boy
A whimsical fantasy adventure awaits in Owl Boy, a 2D sprite-based platformer that has you taking to the skies to defend your home from Sky Pirates.
- Why you should play it: You can use Otus’ clawed feet to grab a range of friends and carry them – and their unique special abilities – into your fight against your attackers.
- Find out more: How Owl Boy is an adventure a decade in the making.
- Available: Tuesday 10th April
4. Operation Warcade
Relive the glory days of ’80s arcades in a whole new way in PS VR. Head into a virtual arcade hall and get to grips with the light gun game Operation Warcade!
- Why you should play it: Play just like the old days by using the mounted gun on the arcade cabinet, or step inside the screen to get into the heart of the action with the game’s immersion mode.
- Available: Wednesday 11th April
5. Call of Duty: WWII – The War Machine: DLC Pack 2
Sledgehammer Games continues its front line assault on the FPS genre with the latest content drop for its WWII-set Call of Duty game.
- Why you should play it: COD: WWII players will be getting three new maps, a new War Mode experience and a new chapter of Nazi Zombies.
- Find out more: Get an overview of the Operation Husky map ahead of launch.
