This week marks the return of Activision’s behemoth FPS franchise with Call of Duty WWII. Relive history through the eyes of a US soldier in Campaign mode, or play heated matches online with your friends.
PlayStation VR also gets two unique genre blends just in time for Halloween! Try out Stifled, a unique sound-based thriller, or PixelJunk VR Dead Hungry, a zombie-filled cooking game!
1. Call of Duty WWII
It’s finally here – the latest instalment of the blockbuster FPS franchise takes you into the heart of World War II. Follow the story of Private Ronald “Red” Daniels from the US First Infantry Division as events unfold across Europe. Land on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day and fight your way through iconic battles to defeat the enemy.
- Why you should play it: The franchise returns to its roots with a breathtaking story mode and fast-paced multiplayer that keeps troops’ boots firmly on the ground.

- Releases: 3rd November
2. Stifled
Go blind in Stifled’s sound-based world with PlayStation VR. Enable your mic and discover your environment thanks to echolocation, a sonar-like system that allows you to ‘see’ the world around you for a limited time. But be very careful though – any noise you make might also attract lurking creatures…
- Why you should play it: Stifled is a unique horror VR experience that will keep you on your toes as you tread the line between making sounds to see, and staying quiet to stay hidden.
- More info: How an audio experiment into blindness twisted into upcoming PS VR horror Stifled, out 31st October
- Releases: 31st October
3. PixelJunk VR Dead Hungry
What would halt hordes of famished zombies going for your brains? Delicious fast food of course! Cook burgers, fries and other unhealthy grub to satiate the appetite of hundreds of zombies that would otherwise be making lunch of your innards.
- Why you should play it: The great minds of Q-Games are back with this VR spin-off that is deliciously fast paced, hectic, and full of humour!
- Releases: 31st October

4. Spintires: MudRunner
Get ready for the ultimate off road experience with Spintires: MudRunner. Take on a variety of challenges aboard 4x4s, trucks and an array of logistic vehicles. Will you be able to withstand the most extreme conditions?
- Why you should play it: Things will get muddy and bumpy in Spintires: MudRunner’s sandbox environments – prepare to master the wheel and go off road!

5. Slayaway Camp: Butcher’s Cut
It’s puzzler meets slasher movie with a twist: you play the bad guy! Take control of a psychotic killer and find ways to commit crimes in Slayaway Camp: Butcher’s Cut. Solve a host of isometric puzzles as you play the adorable murderer Skullface, in this comedic horror movie tribute.
- Why you should play it: More than 300 puzzles to play on a killer soundtrack — composed by the legendary Canadian group GNÜ TRUNTION.
- More info: Slayaway Camp is a stylish PS4 puzzle game masquerading as an ’80s slasher movie
- Releases: 1st November
