What’s in store for the biggest open world Need for Speed has ever seen? Let’s find out.
Set in Fortune Valley, your journey through Need for Speed Payback will take you through mountains, canyons, desert and of course, a city. Each of these zones has its own name, along with landmarks, events, collectables and everything else you’d expect to see.
To the south east is the city of Silver Rock. A mixture of grit and glamour, both of which can be found – you just need to know where to look. The jewel of Silver Rock is Billionaire’s Row, where money is everywhere and the streets may as well be paved with gold and the sky made of silver. The perfect place to cruise around in your super car.
On the other end of the spectrum is Boomville, which swaps the glitz and glamour for an area known for its industrial output. Sure, it may not be as glamorous as Billionaire’s Row, but what it lacks in style it makes up for in racing potential. There’s nothing like racing through industrial suburbs to end the night with a bang.
Silver Rock points of interest:
- Billionaire’s Row
- The Rustway
- Ark Tower
- Lakeside
- The Barrio
- Carville International Airport
To the west of Silver Rock is Liberty Desert but why drive through it when you can drive over it? The perfect place to scratch that off-road itch.
You’ll be spending a lot of time here, or in particular at Airfield 73. Not only will your first garage be located here but this dusty old desert airstrip is a remnant of a bygone age. The only thing that flies through the air, is you. Who says the romantic age of air travel is over?
To the south of Liberty Desert is Las Almas church, or rather, what’s left of it. Desolate and forgotten, it is said that you can hear the souls of a thousand broken down vehicles on the wind.
Liberty Desert points of interest:
- Airfield 73
- Fortune Valley Solar Project
- Fortune Valley Railway Station
- Las Almas Church
Situated in the west of Fortune Valley is Mount Providence, perfect for those that enjoy the tranquil surroundings of nature, and of course, some of the best mountain roads you’ll find. The skies the limit, or will be if you drift your way up to Marshall Observatory. Take a moment to enjoy the night sky, before drifting all the way back down.
There’s something fantastical about cars and tunnels, and the combination is enough to make even the sternest faced adult giggle in pleasure. Put your foot to the floor and put and smile on your face as your engine reverberates around the inner confines of the Cohen Tunnel, just don’t make a mistake – trust us on this one.
The town of Braxton is everything Need for Speed isn’t, it’s quiet, sleepy and very slow moving. Leave your mark on this town where time stands still, do not go quietly into the night, go loud, very loud and fast.
To the south of Mount Providence is Franklin Dome, a place that is best described by none other than Tyler Morgan. “I’d rather climb the face of Everest in my underpants than drive Franklin Dome roads without brakes”. We’ll race you to the top, see you there?
Mount Providence points of interest:
- Marshall Observatory
- Diamond Peak
- Cohen Tunnel
- Fortune Valley Resort & Casino
- Soledad Church
- Mount Graint
- Braxton
- Newhaven Cabins
Silver Canyon is located in the north of Fortune Valley and runs all the way from the northern most tip of Silver Rock city, and cradles the eastern and northern sides of Liberty Desert.
Silver Dam may well hold back the water but it doesn’t hold back the gas pedal. Blast your way over this monument of human engineering, or pull up and take a snapshot, the choice is yours.
Or if heights are more your thing, reach the top of the world and bask in the heat from Ember Peak. Look down upon the world, smile, and go make it your playground.
Silver Canyon points of interest:
- Silver Casino Lodge
- Silver Dam
- Ember Peak
- Ember Valley Visitor’s Centre
Welcome to Fortune Valley, where the stakes are always high!
