Welcome to the weekly recap, folks! There’s been a lot going on in the past seven days. Vote to Play is back with three amazing games looking for your votes. The Hitman Beta went live for pre-order owners. Hotly-anticipated indie adventure Firewatch landed on PS4, as did acclaimed indie Gone Home, yarn-based platformer Unravel and some exciting Dying Light DLC.
So without further ado, here’s our round-up of everything new and exciting on the PlayStation Blog this week…
1. Hitman beta launched this week
Did you pre-order Hitman? Now is your chance to start downloading! With the beta introducing 50 challenges and the new kill opportunity system, you’ll have your hands full this weekend. Check out the beta launch trailer for a peek at what’s included in the Prologue:
2. Immerse yourself in the world of Popcap’s hilarious shooter Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2
Popcap unveils a ton of awesome maps for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 that feature great gameplay mechanics, lots of hidden secrets and hilarious easter eggs. Each environment takes incredible attention to detail – from The Great White North to Sany Sands – take a look:
3. New on PlayStation Store this week
What an embarrassment of riches on the store this week! Aside from the aforementioned Firewatch, there’s delightful platformer Unravel, galactic co-op puzzler Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and the conclusion to the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles trilogy. Plus, Dying Light DLC and the classic GTA Trilogy finally comes to PS4.
4. Vote to Play starts today – which game will you choose?
Back by popular demand! This time there are three games vying for your votes: butt-sliding platformer Action Henk!, foliage-based twitch shooter Assault Android Cactus and 80s action movie love letter Broforce. Get your votes in now!
5. Firewatch is out now on PS4, along with a beautiful Dynamic Theme
The gorgeous first person outdoor adventure is out now on PS4! To celebrate the release, the folks at Campo Santo made an ultra-premium dynamic theme, so you can have some of those lovely autumnal hues on your PS4 homepage.
6. It’s time to get evil – Dungeons 2 is coming to PS4
Harking back to be-the-bad-guy classics like the Dungeon Keeper series, Kalypso’s villainous RTS arrives on PS4 in April. Build your evil lair, manage your monstrous army and conquer the good guys in the Overworld.
7. Swashbuckling MOBA Pirates: Treasure Hunters announced for PS4
A MOBA in which you play pirates battling for gold and glory? Sign us up. Built from the ground-up for console, expect exciting sea battles and the swashing of many a buckle.
8. Knights & Bikes confirmed for PS4, from Tearaway and Ratchet & Clank creators
What do you get when you blend The Goonies, Earthbound and Secret of Mana? Knights & Bikes, a fantastic looking new co-op adventure from Rex Crowle and Moo Yu.
